Southern Guilford High School Announces New Basketball Head Coaches

We are excited to announce the appointment of new leaders for our Southern Guilford Basketball Teams!

Coach Michael Cheston has been named the  Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. A proud Southern Guilford graduate, Coach Cheston has spent the past 10 years coaching Storm basketball in a variety of roles, including JV Boys Head Coach, Varsity Boys Assistant Coach, and Varsity Girls Head Coach. His passion for Southern Guilford and his experience within our program make him a great fit to lead our boys basketball program into the future.

We are also excited to welcome back Coach Scott Tyson as our Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. Coach Tyson brings more than 10 years of varsity coaching experience, including time as a Varsity Boys Assistant Coach at Piedmont Classical High School, Varsity Girls Assistant Coach at Southern Guilford, Varsity Girls Head Coach at Southern Guilford, and Varsity Girls Head Coach at Randleman High School. We are thrilled to have Coach Tyson back at SG leading our girls basketball program.

Both coaches are already part of the Southern Guilford family and bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and dedication to our student-athletes.
