Hello, I have been a nurse since 1993 and have served as a Public Health / School Nurse in Guilford County since 2014.

My role includes assisting staff, students and families to manage chronic illnesses and other health needs at school. I also provide assistance with medications, immunizations, health assessments, vision screenings, health screenings, resources and health information. When on-site, I provide first aide.

I also serve Sylvia Mendez Newcomers and Pruette Scales in High Point.

I am available Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 PM. I am usually on campus at SGHS Mondays and Fridays. I can be reached by phone or by email.

Class of 2027 Vaccination Requirement

Attention Class of 2027: Documentation of the second MCV vaccination is due by 9/24/2026. If documentation is not received by this date, you will not be allowed to return to school until the documentation is received.

You can obtain this vaccine now and provide the documentation to Ms. Mitchell in the Guidance Office.

Locations to obtain the vaccine include:

  •       Pharmacy
  •       Urgent Care

The MCV (Meningococcal groups A,C,Y,W Conjugate Vaccine) protects against Meningitis caused by the serogroups A,C,Y,W of Neisseria meningitidis. The first MCV was required in the 7th grade.

Authorization of Medication for a Student at School

It may be necessary to have medication administered while at school or during a field trip. If a student needs to take medication during these times, then this Authorization of Medication for a Student at School form must be completed and given to our school nurse. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Pesayanavin and she will be able to answer them for you.
